before there were either format of video cassettes, there were reel to reel video portapacks. with seperate cameras, and you had to carry both, and a tuner box besides, and the cameras were as fidgitty as studio cameras and not as much lighter as you might wish. 'live coverage' of the kennidy election was made with them. first time this was ever televised.
Here's a book from 1962... I can't remember it at the moment, but what I read was interesting.... I'm obsessed with comparing, especially time capsules, instead of the big events everyone talks about. I like zeitgeist. I want to know how an average day was like pre-1980s If anyone is interested, I'll look for the title of the book. I do know I found a copy on archives.org
Remember when you were young? You shone like the sun I miss great music, even though I wasn't alive.. But I still find some 70s "deep tracks" from time to time, or expand on what I already know (solo albums, etc)

yes, but you couldn't connect a modem unless you leased one of their's at the rediculaous rates they wanted. the only way, almost right up until the internet were those 300 baud acoustical couplers. the birth of the popularity of personal computing ultimately lead to the break up of ma bell's monopoly. bell labs was a good and useful thing in its time though.
