I'm sorry that you've gone through these hard times. It's admirable that you've been able to maintain a positive attitude. Can you cut the guy a break though?
Man and I thought I was negative. I tend to see life as a one day at a time thing. Yeah things suck a lot of the time, but maybe tomorrow will be better than today. Everything changes and nothing is forever. Honestly I kind of see death as a relief too. When you are old and sick and dying, even that doesn't last because eventually you'll be dead and you won't have to deal with the crap. We all have an expiration date so rather than stressing about having a ton of money and having status, I just want to try to enjoy myself however I can. I think people forget that you can't take your money with you when you die.
The longer you live, the more you increase your chances of being burnt or paralyzed in a nasty accident.
So for distractions we have; work, drugs, toys, religion is another big one, maybe sex? Human beings, humans being distracted. Don't stop being something, the darkness is chasing you.
I'm not saving money for status. I'm saving it to buy time and so I won't find myself eating cat food when I'm old and decrepit. Aside from status, money is a buffer to the hard realities of life. I don't want to croak in a "home", unless I have indeed lost my mind.
I get that. I'm talking about greedy people who hoard more money than they could ever spend if they tried.
I blame those people for the economy. They hide their money in offshore accounts, therefore they don't pay their fair share in taxes, and they don't donate or help anyone. Then they blame the poor people for everything and say they're lazy moochers.
