What about Beavis and Butthead? Are they still on MTV? They did some feature movies of them too. Wayne's World was a popular thing too, not to mention all those Austin Powers movies, which are a pretty good parody of the 60s culture. :)

what about light brights?? i thought for sure that would have made the list.

"light bright....light bright....turn on the colors of magic light" or somthing to that effect right?

Yes, Light Brite. The days when pixels were mechanical. :)
That goes back to the late 60s or thereabouts. Not to mention the Hasbro Easy Bake oven.

Back when Outa Sight was a popular phrase. "Lite-Brite, makin' things with light. Outtasite, makin' things with Lite-Brite."

Some of that shit pretty much cracked up me, reading it. :D But there are a few things I'm surprised weren't on the list...

How about Tamagotchi's? :D They were HUGE. I think I was in fourth grade when they exploded. You HAD to have one, or you just weren't cool. Ahaha, everyone had 'em on the bus, and there was the secret way to pause them so you could go outside and play...

And what about Creepy Crawlers, the Easy Bake Oven for boys? Man, I burnt my hands so many times on that thing. I would never wait for the little plastic guard to go down. I'd maneuver the little grabber under the guard and get those little bugs out and drop them in the plastic waster dish so it would steam up. :D I was really impatient...

And how about when Princess Diana's death pretty much stopped the whole world? Even back then, at that age, I couldn't believe how overblown it was.

What about trampolines? Is that a '90s thing? I spent a lot of time on them in the '90s, but it doesn't seem like they're all that popular now. But maybe I'm just out of the loop.

And Laser Discs. :D We used them all the time in my 4th grade science class... I used to think that they would become popular and that I would have them at home. Guess that didn't happen.

    The '90s sucked ass.
I'd give anything to have been born in either 1948 or 1950 instead of 1991.

I don't think anyone mentioned the 'pump up' craze of the 90s. Those were the items with air bladders, everything from shoes to baseball gloves. There was even a pump-up bikini. They even got famous athletes to promote the stuff to pump up company profits.

Ahaha, I forgot about those. :D I had the pump-up shoes... I was totally confident that they would make me jump higher. I'm pretty sure they didn't work.

Yeah, but that was back in the 60s when the press was free to report what was really going on, as opposed to being cleared through the embedded journalist program by the military and a ban on filming the bodies coming home to the U.S.

Anyone remember the first gulf war? The military kept all the journalists on the sidelines with the scene of the desert behind them and nothing to see. A great free press that was.

But who cares about that. Let's just idolize whoever is in the White House right now because they belong to a particular party that we adore and think that they are actually helping us while we struggle to make ends meet. Let's use that as a litmus test of who can or can't be our friends and be frustrated at the world every time someone has a criticism about our leader, no matter how true it is.

the kid criticized no one, he wished to be 15 in 1965.
I would rather be 15 right now. There was a draft in 68

I wasn't referring to him. I was referring to how things have gotten politically polarized in recent years, especially post 911 and Iraq invasion. As bad as some say the 90s were, they were better than much of what is going on today, in my opinion.
