religion is for commerce

all through time commerce has exploited the weak. hard to make a profit if you have to pay fair wage to everyone. if you have to consider environment. animals lives. human equality. it's okay though to kill, enslave and destroy the environment when it is only the soulless and ungodly who are exploited.

 

"all through time" isn't entirely accurate, as all through time, commerce didn't even exist as a concept. only after the organizing of agricultural hierarchy did it even have the means to come into existence. some beliefs pre-date that. it is true that all (that have any sort of large following to their name) have been distorted to support whatever ideologies and priorities, the consensus of their followers wanted to do and believe anyway.

 

The wealthiest country in the world is also the most religious in the developed world, weapons are our largest manufactured export, and our military is equal to the next six to sixteen largest combined. well, commerce could be called trade. trade within the people of ones religion would be facilitated.while exploitation of those without wouldn't be considered wrong.

Without at least agriculture, your religion is going to have limited appeal. Without quantum mechanics, countries like the US with 300 million people, mostly Christian, would be impossible.

Well I, for one, am glad I have both commerce and religion. Hunting, gathering, and fighting off sabre toothed tigers isn't my idea of a meaningful existence, and religion gives me a vehicle for sharing thoughts and emotions with like-minded people, as well as keeping me in contact with the summation of human idealism. Much of the grousing comes from reaction to the pathological excesses of both phenomena.

 

yes, well my view is pretty cynical. i mean religion is used to make people feel better about exploitation by becoming chosen. it's then okay to decimate others or cheat them of their full stature of human beings.

Hate is a terrible thing to waste on religion which just follows the money like reality TV vultures, while modern science is now teaching anyone how to rapidly destroy the entire planet.
