I believe he is remembering the good and bad times he had in Trenchtown right as he is about to leave the city, and also to leave his woman. The way that he structures the lyrics, however, is brilliant; on the one had, he has it say in Jamaican patois/dialect, "my woman, please don't cry for me while I am gone." On the other hand, he has it say in a standard English, "without a woman, you will not cry." There seems to be a double meaning and also a play on words that might be lost in translation. Heaven, could you translate?
