and last time I drove through 4 states I was never once stopped and asked to show any permits, so don't know what that stupidity is all about.

yeah I really have no idea what he's talking about with the permits. You usually need some kind of license or ID on you I guess , but that's it.

I'm not the biggest fan of my country, there is a lot about it I dislike, but honestly, complaining about America in a thread about a country where millions of people have been displaced by war just kinda shows how privileged America is.

Me and Bob were driving out of Poudre Canyon and we were stopped by the cops to show IDs. My friend Curtis was walking near Buckingham Park in Fort Collins and was stopped by cops to show id. My friend Duncan was hitchhiking to his father's house in New Hampshire and was told to show id or go to jail. If you have no id you will be arrested in America. If you drive a truck like I did for a living, you have to carry permits for each state. When I camp in the hills I have to have a permit. When I use one or the lakes near Fort Collins or Scottsbluff I have to buy a permit. If I camp in the national forest or BLM lands I have to leave after 14 days and sometimes I have to have a permit, like in Arizona and Nevada.

I do find it amazing that people like stormmountain can see this shit that goes on in other parts of the world and STILL want to whine and cry about their sad little lives at the hands of the evil American Empire.....LOL

as far as the thread topic, I honestly have no firm opinion because I am so far removed from those people's reality that I am not in a position to speak and anything I may say will pale in comparison to their ordeal.

 

My reaction to that is literally beyond words. Frustrating, to say the least.

And... the next post from anybody that isn't about refugees from the area in and around Syria is gonna get deleted.

 

Why are all these European countries being so heavily pressured to bring these immigrants/refugees in in huge numbers when they won't do the same with East Asian countries with high standards of living, or even North or South American?

Or better yet, how about the wealthier MIDDLE EAST nations? How many refugees have they taken under their wing? ZERO!!!!

Maybe it's the corporations that'll love the influx of cheap labor coming in in mass numbers to Europe. Go figure.

Good thing about where I live is, ain't no desert dwellers gone pack their bags and head into the alps. too tough, too cold.

When I see fellow homeless kinsfolk on the street, that's who I think we should be helping out first, or, let's just fix our own shit before fixing somebody else's.
