Reddit is terrible but there are no alternatives.

I prefer coffee shops over the Internet. Everything is so damn political and even the self-proclaimed "open minded" can be self-righteous assholes. On Reddit, it's literally the kingdom of self-righteous hypocrites.

I've always kept my personal information and personal life very private on the Internet. I never give specifics about anything or anyone in my life. For me it's always been about keeping conversations lite and the most general terms. But this doesn't mean that I don't enjoy talking about my daily life with others or sharing my daily anecdotes and lessons.

So I'm on reddit because of one part of my life that can't really be shared with the general public. Again, even the most self-proclaimed liberal and open minded people turn into moralist crusaders against me. Well the world is what the world is and I can only live in it.

There are 3 subreddits that are devoted to people like me. I've already been banned from one and censored by another. And it's not because I said anything bad or attacked anyone. In both cases my crime was explaining some statistical data and talking about a lawyer who's fighting to legalize marriage for all adults in all kinds of marriages. - Nothing controversial at all !

In both cases the mods messaged me to ensure that I was properly lectured on what rotten human being I am. Which is really messed up because they're in charge of groups devoted to allowing people like me to talk. The reality appears that they just want to be titilated and they still believe that everyone like me is evil garbage.

 

As I said, there are no real alternatives.
And, now it's 3 groups of 3 groups that have censored me. Again, the speech about me being evil. Only this time the comment was that I'm a lying c*nt.

Reddit markets itself as the most progressive platform on the Internet. They should adopt the slogan, "We're your friends when we like you."

I spoke to a mod in private and it's not an alternative. So I'll just complain about the situation in very general terms.

 

We've been around far longer than reddit, and we are far better moderated too. I gather that's what you don't like?

 

Actually I've been told to not let the door hit me in the ass on the way out for my posting on this supposedly free to speak forum in contrast to the popularly accepted opinion of the gathered liberal majority, prepared as usual for a conservative beat-down. Not so supportive of free speech here either, and BlondeTabu can certainly expect no better either.

 

It all depends on the moderator's personal opinions and how the other forum members react.

It's actually been far worse with the liberals. Conservatives, even the religious ones, just call me an evil piece of crap then drop the issue.
Wheras liberals and leftists go for my throat. Many of them will try to cause problems for me in the real world. They're brutal and it's becoming clear to me that I should just stay away from mainstream social media.
