What is Claim Jumper? A restaurant? Never heard of it, but that is a weird ass name for a restaurant.
the wasp supremacist stereotype creates itself, by its own choosing. not mine. but i do dislike all stereotypes, because the presuppose there is such a thing as normal. some universally shared basic common standard. and this, quite simply, is a total and absolute myth. there is no 'normal'. there is only greater or lesser consideration. there are rolling hills of probability, but none of them are prisons anyone is born into. not even non-physical things. that's why i don't believe in the whole devils, demons, and angels business either. now the whole problem with franchising is it reduces common accessibility to creative individual entrepreneurship. not that i believe crapitolism to be any sort of wonderkind either. but diversity is generally more desirable then the lack of it. as for meat that swims rather then walks, i don't see the one as any more nor less then the other. if it don't eat me first, the universe is, if not always fair, at the very least, impartial. (and proteans that neither swim nor walk are good too).
yes. there is a chain of restaurants by the name of claim jumper. and yes it is a weird ass name. some marketing genius decided since the world is dominated by a culture that romantacisiz and rewards aggressiveness, any name that does so, might have some sort of appeal. most of the ones i have seen were in verious stages of slow death. so i'm not sure how great a stratagy that was supposed to have been. there was a wonderful independent place, in one of the towns i once lived, called dirty dingus mcgees though. (i don't know how that was supposed to be appatizing, but, gold rush area of northern california.)
i wonder if lobsters come in any other color then red. i don't think i've ever seen a green or a blue one. not sure i'd want to eat one of those if i did. (murder burger is a fun name. there is a franchise chain by that name too. there's a non-franchise (as far as i know) mystery diner in my town. not so sure about that name either, though the intended implication might be ok)
i had bad business dealing with some congo people before ....shysters they were the only good part was that they spoke french better than most french canadians so it was really easy to communicate with them they are the subject of the only police report i ever remember filing i dont know which restaurants they preferred
Talking about the Congo people reminded me of the Haitians I have come across. The only reason I don't like stereotypes is because it gives the impression that all people in that category are the same. But in my experience I have not once seen a Haitian show manners common courtesy or any behavior other than selfish or rude. To be fair I may have mixed them up with black Americans if they didn't speak. I have never felt more OK making a stereotype about a nation of people than I did about these POS'
there's a local restaurant not far from here named "beef and beer." there's something to be said for straightforwardness too. they actually have a pretty diverse menu, so they're kind of selling themselves short.
