I have the original HD PVR that ONLY supports component and NOT HDMi. but when i tried to set it up on my PS4, it was an epic fail considering that the PS4 has a HDMi output, instead of a component port, now on the other hand, the HD PVR 2 gaming edition supports HDMi. which is what i'll need to record gameplay on the PS4, it sucks that i have to trade-in my HD PVR 1 for the HD PVR 2 just to be able to record my games on the PS4... if i can use the HD PVR 2 on the PS3 as well, then i'll consider getting it.
