Nice spring pics! I haven't captured any garden birds and no flowering trees yet, but the gulls at the lake are swirling about. And the ice is almost gone!
I immediately recognize Forsythia, since it’s too early for cherry blossoms (at least locally) I’m guessing that tree a magnolia? Also, in the distance are those Daffodils or yellow tulips? Hotwater
after a bit of gooogling, and i still don't know who came up with term or where its use originated, a selfie stick seems to be a go-pro device, that enables one to take pictures over the heads of crowds or a low altitude aerial looking angle of oneself or others walking along. this is probably captain obvious news to some, but it was certainly news to me. of course i know about go-pros, even know someone who has used precisely this device. the term for it though, this is the first time i've heard it.
Yes, it's a Magnolia... Off to the right out of the picture is a flowering Cherry in bloom. (It hasn't been told it's too early even though it is here too) The mass planting are Daffodil, several different varieties, these scatter off into the woods just beyond.
took a walk to the local abandoned bridge today. view from hilltop cemetery: view of cemetery from bridge: view of bridge from road: found this fella nesting at the top of the hill: this would have been a beautiful place for a house if they hadn't decided to put all their dead people there instead.
this part of the cemetery apparently was a road at one point, long long ago. that's the road that apparently used to continue through here off in the distance. it's hard to tell here, but this is where the road continued down the hill. and you can't tell at all here, but it came out on the left side, right at the bottom of the picture
between the road that became a cemetery and the closed road to the bridge, there is the remains of a park or something. this hillside is a perfect semicircle, and was apparently terraced all the way around at one time. i don't know if there was a statue here or something?
It's been cold and raining the last few days but last week the weather was mild and sunny. The lake looked like glass, with some beautiful reflections. Mirror image
