It may in fact be threatened by habitat loss. The resinous wood is extremely valuable, which would explain why it may be hard to find i the wild.

I think that most of the agarwood products come from cultivated trees.

So I think that it might be like saying wild marijuana is endangered. The wild population itself may be endangered, but the tree itself is not.
