Ok this is weird but I just realised that there aren't many films that are set entirely, or almost entirely, in space. To me there's something really artistic about the minimialism & creativity of making an entire 90 min movie in space, using just a handful of small sets as the spaceship. Maybe that's why there aren't too many of these films compared to regular scifi. Even stuff like Star Wars is mostly set on some planet with maybe 25% in actual space only when they're fighting battles. So can anyone suggest some good space movies? Here's what I got so far 2001 A Space Odyssey 2010 Alien Gravity Moon (ok a little bit of a grey area but we'll call a remote moon outpost as 'space') Outland (we'll count that for the same reason as above) Pandorum Silent Running Star Trek I, II & VI Sunshine PS Bonus points to anyone who can name any non-American or non-English language films set in space. It seems like a mostly Hollywood phenomenon doesn't it?
