TWEE POP!! The Softies, Go Sailor, Tiger Trap... Rose Melberg is a goddess! Twee is 100% devoid of rawk-attitude but real music nonetheless (and very beautiful). And you won't see them on MTV either.

You should also check The Corals, if you don't know them.

And for some energetic and fun music WITH political lyrics, check out Ska-P, they're awesome.

By the way... I'm finding the term 'indie' isn't a nasty word by default, as I used to think even months ago. There IS a pop music underground...

 

I think indie is a nasty word, since the indie artists aren't necessarily 'indie' (as in independant) at all. It's a pretty misleading name in my opinion. And I don't dig the music generally neither.

 

i have been into "indie" lately tho... its not all that bad... but only some stuff is ok. its really nice to fall asleep to or whatever. sometimes.

but i cant argue waking up to the dead either or some zeppelin.. because that just makes me happy.. lol along with a joint............

Yeah, I dig those new songs as well, I don't have the album with those songs yet, but their previous one is a fantastic psychedelic rock album. It's called El Paso II and I heavily recommend it to everyone who likes to lounge with a reefer and some good rock! :tongue:

Yeah, a lot of these bands are on big labels now and not truly indie at all anymore. But that's not the indie I'm talking about... I couldn't care less about Coldplay or Radiohead or the Kaiser Chiefs etc.
