The origin of zombies originated in africa from the bite of the tsetse fly which caused a form of sleeping sickness (trypanosomiasis) which made the victim appear to as the walking dead hotwater
orson = voice actor h.g. = writer yah to do with zombies what they did in the 30s with 'martians'. well the walking sleeping sickness isn't the only way to have people in a zombie like condition. not actualy re-animated corpses, but there are drugs used in vodoon, or so i've been told, that lower vital functions to where the're all but totaly undetectable. and then the person revives after that in a kind of like that sleepwalking state for a while. sounds dangerous to the person undergoing it. some sort of religeous ritual connected with it, supposedly or something like that. all secret society like and probable illigal as hell. that part of it anyway. i'd be afraid of actualy getting burried and then sufficating in a coffin or some creapy shit like that myself. death and rebirth rituals, though more symbolic rather then like that with the drugs and everything, were part of pre-christian celtic traditions, again i'm only going by what i've read, but that one, well both of these, are pretty widely collaberated. but then so have a lot of other things, some of which have turned out to be a bit distorted. so don't take me as an authority on any of it. just there's always a ton of odds and ends like that you're bound to come accross if you live long enough. i do remember the bond movie; 'you only live twice' that had a bit of fun with the concept. =^^= .../\...
