im changing my vote to Sagres. It's a really good portuguese beer. way better than any american beer ive had.
I say, to each his own. I don't really have a fav beer. But I do have favorite STYLES of beer. Like Guiness for Stout, Newcastle for Amber Ale, Peroni for a Lager ect. I do have to say that Miller/Bud is horrible brew. Just Awful
Personally, my three favorite beers are: 1. Sol 2. Modelo Especial 3. Pacifico I do not like Corona or Tecate at all. If I cant afford Sol or one of my other favs, then Budweiser/Bud Light or Miller Light are good enough. I do love beer, all kinds of beer. Sometimes, theres nothing better than an frosty cold beer.
but all the beers you listed are the same style, virtually identical. not that i dont drink those typical watery golden lagers often enough, but jeez.... i can't imagine ever taking modelo especial over the negra modelo
1: pabst blue ribbon can 2: yuegling lager draft 3: budweiser bottled 4: miller light bottled 5: anything out of keg when im already drunk
I had this imported beer at some New York restaurant (all fancy schmancy like) that was seriously like liquid gold. It was super strong for a beer and the taste was phenomenal. I can't even explain it... I forgot what it was called. I think it started with a D...it was imported from a European country...it was like...Doublehaagnet or something crazy I seriously have no idea. (It is probably nothing close to that) I believe it was a lager, I could be wrong. But it was pale in color and had a very crisp, clean taste.
once again, ima have to say its all about that natural "nasty" ice. and i have to agree with nesta, sol, modelo and pacifico are all kinda the same shit. plus they're imported. i dont care what you say, any imported beer is less fresh than a domesticated one. not that i dont like my tecate, im just saying.
guys, you can end the argument, because it is ALL about the houblon chouffe dobbelen IPA tripel. it's a double ipa made in belgium, using the same types of yeast you would use for a strong belgian style ale, giving it a distinctly belgian flavor along with the normal IPA flavor profile. its magnificent for domestic double ipa's, nothing will beat avery's the maharaja or stone's ruination, as far as i'm concerned but yeah, 90 minute ipa is pretty damn good, too. but i prefer these usually. but i do like the grapefruit type flavor in the hops
I love beer, and actually, I was hopeful when I saw "real beer drinkers". However I was dissapointed by allot of peoples answers. If budweiser or corona is your favorite beer, than your not a real beer drinker. Beers like budweiser are cooperate monsters. They make beer on such a huge scale, theres little attention to detail, this is also why budweiser has little selection (if you exclude their all their subsidiaries, which you should). The only time I drink budwieser is when I'm chugging and intending to get wasted. The one large company beer I like is sam adams, they've managed to keep some small brewery qualities, like an actual selection, and beer that has flavor. My favorite beers are microbrews, particularity ESBs. Here are some pictures of my favorites (which aren't all microbrews or ESBs)... The last one is one I've tried recently, and LOVE.
negra modelo is good. last night i had my standby at the pub down the street, 3 glasses of bell's two-hearted, a wonderful and well balanced IPA weighing in at a somewhat hefty 7%ABV. normally 3.75 for a pint, sunday specials are a dollar off domestic craft beers on tap, so it was 2.75 - the same cost as a budweiser at the bar! i also had my one, and probably only, taste of this year's kentucky breakfast stout at the bar, but it was very expensive. i had it served in a wide glass like a strong belgian ale or barleywine (i think it was a rochefort glass), and it was outstanding but cold. i wish they hadn't refridgerated it. this year it's a whopping 11.5%ABV...last year i think it was 10 or 10.5. it may have been due to the temperature, but the coffee flavor seemed a bit overly pronounced, and it overwhelmed the flavor acquired by aging it in bourbon barrels. luckily this is an extremely low-carbonation beverage, so the drink lost nothing at all by drinking it slowly, allowing it to warm up a little bit. it's outstanding, but i'm a little disappointed, i think it was better last year. still, it's practically narcotic.
