to sum it up though, when i read fiction, i tend to read what its telling me and then start imagining all this other stuff on a tangent, but you cant do that when reading a book, your meant to imagine whats in the words, and yeh, i dont like reading someone elses imagination put into words, for me to then decode and create in my own imagination, which will never be what the author intended.
i have problems keeping an attention span long enough to get past more than 2 pages... i need to have nothing distracting around me at all... stoned or sober.... when i do read its informative read... i cant stand reading stories... if im gonna waste my time with something i wanna learn from it... i dont read stuff to find out if the killer was John Doe's best friend or if it was his maid he was cheatin on with his wife...
Bill, I dig what you're saying. Entertainment, most of the time, turns me off. I mean, it is a waste of time. I'd rather be doing something at least somewhat productive, rather than merely being entertained. Even if I'm just reading to learn, which is still not a great accomplishment if it's not going towards something. They call that idle curiosity. Though it's not a bad thing once in a while, we all need time to just relax and fiction books, TV, movies, etc can all be a good outlet. I think we all just get too caught up in it
my eyes get so dry and i have to blink often. reading would be torture..... even with visine they feel dry and thn i start to get tired, then hungry, then lazy, so i can't really read high.... i can't even flip through a mag. before my eyes start driving me crazy.
It all depends on what it is that I am reading. If I am reading something which interests me, then I will be able to enjoy reading it stoned. If it is something that does not interest me, then I will not be able to focus on it. I really like reading philosophical, religious, psychological, and other scientific things while stoned, but could really care less about something such as the weight of paper.
