oooooh, you just HAD to throw that at me didnt you?! haha Mostly, its either Gates Of Delerium, or To Be Over (hence the sig quote) But damn man, from 69 - 78, every song is amazing! How about you?
Starship Trooper is amazing, and Roundabout is a close second. I haven't really listened to their full catelog, but I'm sure there are tons of better songs out there.
Oh trust me, WAY better! The 3 albums I listed in the other post are beyond words, each song over 20 minutes long. And the song Awaken, also Wonderous Stories from the album Going For The One are quite possibly some of the most complex, brilliant music ever made.
Nice! Definitley let me know what you think, Close to the Edge is quite simple to grasp, Relayer also hits you at once, but Tales comes off as pretentious at first to a lot of people who dont give it a chance at few more listens. It really is an aqquire taste
Yeah, Long Distance Runaround is my third... Well atleast until the end of the day when I listen to these other albums
Long Distance is great, the bass line all funked out with a super nintendo style guitar sound Love it! Any fans of And You and I? OR how about Heart of the Sunrise?
yea, Siddhartah was really good, I read that last year when I was first learning about Hindu philosophies. And I would recommend either The Inivisible Landscape or The Archaic Revival by Terrence McKenna. I can just send you food of the gods over the internet if you give me an email address to send it to, his books are expensive$$
And You and I is good but i havent listened to the close to the edge album that much. I just went Yes crazy and reserved like 10 albums from the library since my collection isnt that big.
Ummmmm If you want a chillin easy to read fantasy book then i still belive there is nothing better than The Never Ending Story. Bret Easton Ellis is probably my favorite author at the moment, check out Less than zero The rules of attraction American Psycho Glamourama Lunar Park
I'm reading Johnathon Strange and Mr. Norrell. It's about set in England in the 1800's. About two magicians that are trying to bring traditional magic back to Britian. It's slow getting into and about 800 pages, but it's amazing. They fight a war with magic and it's fucked to say the least. Too much to explain, just read it!
since you like george orwell, you might want to check out some ray bradbury books. some of them really make you doubt reality id also recommend these: Scar Tissue (Anthony Keidis' autobiography- it's insane. even if you're not a rhcp fan you'll still be blown away) Jonathan Livingston Seagull Lake Wobegon Summer 1956 and many more, i'll think of them later
catcher in the rye anything by hunter s thompson (cant beleive no ones mentioned him) one flew over the cuckoos nest
I second the Huxley reccomendations, Brave New World is also a fantastic book. Read the beats, too! Kerouac: Read any and all. On the Road, Tristessa and Dharma Bums are my personal favorites. William S. Burroughs: Naked Lunch, Queer or Junky I just finished Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, very very good.
