im thinking of using this concoction full time (once every week and a half) instead of shampoo.... whatau think. It does such a good job. And dr. bronner leaves residue behind for me every time and i am sick of it.
I use it as my main form of washing/shampooing. Once to twice a week depending on my schedule. I tweaked it a bit so it's not so intense to do weekly - like cutting down on the quantity of tea tree oil (I find a little goes a long way) and cutting out the sea salt so I don't dry things out too much. Then, once a month, I do the full concoction.
BUMP. Biggin up this thread, again! I've also started using this instead of shampoo. It makes me dreadies feel so much cleaner and lighter.
I've been using it exclusively as a weekly replacement for Dr. Bronners which was causing more bad then good with my dreads. Its been 4 months now and I can't believe how much cleaner and oil free my hair is now. although I removed the salt and only use 2 drops of oil but then I only make 2 cups at a time and not a giant bowl Now I use the magic soap as a body and face wash. it is a great face soap just gotta be sure to use an oil free moisturizer with it.
i really wish i can try this but it's hard for me to get the supplies... my mom probably won't support me putting this stuff in my hair... (only 16.. =P) guess i'll stick to my dr. bronner's for a few more months
the swuplies are most likely already in your kitchen, except the teetree oil i just used this for the 1st time, didnt have teatree and just guessed at the measurements of the rest, i love it, and im totaly sold on using it all the time from now on
yea u can although id preffer a lil teatree man im so in love with this now i didnt have a towl so didnt bother with that...started with a spray bottle like ya said (which did help under the beard dreads ) but eneded up just takin the cap off and dumpin it over my head i doubt i left it on 1/2 as long as ya suggested too but still wow what a difference soon as i gert teatree im mixin it up by the gallon and bein lil more thourough i cant get over how good it feels
hehe I used to make that stuff and just dump the whole bowl over my head. I did the towel thing because it was so nice and warm somehow, and the tea tree was so nice on my scalp. I love this recipe
heehee i'm just a dripdry kinda guy i think i know i own several towels, but dont think i've seen 1 of em in a couple years
jsut used this again, it is so amazing. its like it liquifyes all the crap that my hair accumulates, and then rinses right out. once i take my towel off, my hair is squeeky its so clean. i have made it w/o tea tree, or substituted some other ess oil and it works fine. i never measure it either.
*raises her hand* That would be me, the person that lives in climate that bounces between 0 to -45'C for a nice chunck o'the year. :1eye: This thought suddenly gave me an urge to make a wig out of icicle lights.
I tried this a few weeks ago with some Arm and Hammer baking soda and it worked well enough. I had to keep swirling the mixture because the baking soda would clump at the bottom of the bowl. I still had grit in my hair when I washed it out, too. I noticed when I initially mixed all the ingredients, the result was a dull grey liquid. Last night I used it again, this time with Bob's Red Mill baking soda, and it was soooo much better! The baking soda dissolved *extremely* well and was pretty much clear as opposed to grey. It rinsed out even better than before and my hair isn't dry at all, rather soft. I wonder what made these differences... I don't wanna sound like spam, but I'm definitely going to be using Bob's everytime now. Anywho, just giving a thumbsup to kyndmama for the great recipe!
