You ignorant fool. Sweatshops are the best thing next to sliced bread that ever happened in Honduras! We are dependent on them for all of our economy of alksmost all of the income of the lower class (90% of the population). Without foreign support, the shops would close, and millions of people would loose thier jobs. I do not know how you idiots even dare speaking of Honduras with such ignorance. Horrible slave child labour? Where? I've seen child labour... it should be legalized world wide... together with universal education. Kids that cannot go to school are at least making a buck. Bad conditions? Slavery? Yeah right...grow up, idealistic hippie... the conditions are wonderful...i've been in my share of sweatshops, I know.
All this coming from a spoiled little rich brat. YOU are dependent on them for your economy...the poor folks of honduras would be better off farming or something rather thanm working in your of your pappy's buddy's shops. Just because you are a spoiled little shit reaping the benefits from someone else's backbreaking 13 hour workday doesn't mean it's a good thing. Think about that next time your "backpacking through an exotic land"...that is, if you're capable of thinking of anything other than yourself and what daddy's money can buy for you.
pfff... central americans. think they know everything all they do is wreck the place and kill panda bears for fun
Spoiled rich brat? Where are the generalizations comming from, do you know me? I am not dependent on anyone for economy, I am an Israeli citizen, the country I currently live in though, is. Farming? The land is hardly good and there is no farming technocogy. We cannot slash and burn in this age. They cannot farm, they do not have the money to open farms. IF they would have it, then they would be farming, wouldn't they? Ripping the benefits? None of my money comes from Honduran workers... if anyone is ripping them for benefit... then it's you Americans who buy the clothes they produce. Backpacking does not require much money... You are completely ignorant towards Honduras... next time, before posting, think of that.
