Until we understand derivatives and hedge funds and they have to fully disclose what their paper is based on this will not be over. It wasn't caused by poor folks buying homes they couldn't afford, it was caused by basing a market on air. Until we address that it's just another bubble waiting to happen and collapse.

The banks didn't float loans to those poor folks expecting them to default, or maybe they did, they just thought the value of the loans would continue to inflate and they couldn't lose.

Thing is there has to be some reason and regulation or greed will lead us all into a hole. And one day it will be a hole so deep none of us can dig out.
