Yeah I know what you mean it seems like when you listen to rap, it just automatically makes you all gangsta and cool, thus it seems like a lot of rap fans are just gangsta wannabees, you cant help but think that when you are around white guys that are obsessive about rap and hip hop, haha I mean im guilty of it too, theres a lot of good rap and its one of my top favorite music genres, but still it remains kinda funny to me still.

 

Odd Future is an amazing new group. Also add the whole AOTP and Demigodz crew. Though some of them members are far from new

To the ears of us old ones that have been into actual MUSIC since big band, early pop, black folks denied being on the radio, then starting to be allowed on the radio, having them influence the rock and roll emergence, to the 60s -70s vast improvement of R& R, away from 3 chord progression and up through all the rest of the offshoots of Rock, I swear I don't know how this stuff is called music. I'm in agreement with Ray Charles when asked if there was any music he didn't like--he said rap. I'm with Ray on that.

Yeah, I'm old--so maybe I just don't get it--but my ears do. It makes a lot of money for the ones that do it--but I have a hard time believing anyone settles for what sounds like the same shit time after time. That's what I get from all of it. Rock had room to progress. Even country music had some room to progress and change-out of the old style and into rock style. What can rap progress into.??
