Cards have been pouring here from neighbor's and friends about the loss of Champy pug.....but nothing for oscar cat....but I can think that is because everyone knew Champy but never Oscar cat. oscar cat always hid in the basement when anyone was around.

When i told the vet next door, she got really sad and said Champy was her favorite.

I still get sad and cry thinking about both lost pets. It takes a long time. This house is not the same anymore....:(

Champy had a HUGE presence....none of the others have stepped up into lead dog....none of them....and Moxy is still sad, too.

A guy I used to fall with died when a tree barber-chaired on him yesterday. He was young and had a baby girl. I'm glad I got out of the industry.

That is very sad, Sitka. What do you mean a guy you used to fall with?
I just read in the newspaper, someone around here, left dogs in a hot car while they ran errands and two of them died.
Wonderful. Everywhere one turns, there is sad news....:(

    There's good news too.

You won't find it in the media though

I was not even really talking about the media really. I can always find things to be happy about. I am basically a pretty happy person in all things....but there are things that happen to us or ones we love that can make us sad for a spell.....and i wonder when people will stop leaving animals in hot cars.

I am glad you quit and are safe now then, Sitka. I am very sorry about your friend that you used to see on jobs, though.

there was, i don't know as i haven't listened in a while, on a little noncommercial radio station nevada city california, on the web at kvmr.org, once a week, i don't remember if it was one hour or two, what was called the good news show. and for a wonder it wasn't about that particular religion either. but actually they would find things on the news wires and on the web and local people would call in with theirs, where they'd actually read just the good news they for that week. and they never ran out of good news before they ran out of time.

Apparently the movie wasn't the only trainwreck....sheesh!

July 24 (Reuters) - A lone gunman opened fire inside a crowded movie theater in Lafayette, Louisiana, on Thursday evening, killing two people and injuring seven others before taking his own life, police said.

Gunfire erupted during a 7 p.m. CDT (0000 GMT) showing of the film "Trainwreck". The incident took place almost three years to the day after 12 people were killed at a cinema in Aurora, Colorado.

Lafayette Police Chief Jim Craft said two people died in the hail of bullets before the 58-year-old suspect killed himself with a handgun as officers rushed to the scene shortly after 7:30 p.m.

Does anyone else see a pattern in these shooting events. They seem to all be relatively the same, with the same sort of person. A loner, drifter, radical etc Could all this be "Coincidence" or are we seeing periodically planned scare tactics to keep us in fear mode?

    Hello,

yesterday a documentary was aired in which a friend of mine took part. I don't own a TV and usually don't watch TV, so I decided to see if I can get this little DVB-T thingy to work, that I usually use for science. It worked, sort of, and I ended with a video file of the documentary. This morning I wanted to watch the video and it was... weired. The station that aired the documentary is bilingual and usually, I think, you choose the language you want by muting either the left or the right audio channel. While recording the video I somehow fscked that up and ended with English and French audio simultaneously. I watched for 10 minutes or so and thought I could 'zone' in into one language, but it made my head explode ;).

    Regards
    Gyro

We are looking at the opposite. A long, hot, dry, impeding summer. Looking forward to the never ending flies, dead grass and every poisonous animal you can think of. :D

    Hello,

sounds like a lot of fun ;). Well, the last heatwave ebbed away a few days ago, but they predicted a new one for this week. Not as hot as the last one, but temperatures should rise up to nearly 40C again.

    Regards
    Gyro
