dammit...snowing out there pretty heavily, and it is getting late....where does the time go?...and I have to get these dogs out for a little bit anyway.......
I don't see anyone changing their profile pics in solidarity with Istanbul and Turkey, like they did with Paris.
I guess Turkey is not seen as part of the western world by both people on here and the media. The majority of the victims may be but I guess location matters.
From the most recent bombings? Didn't the bomber attack a group of Germans? It's fucked up though. I drank a whole lot of beer at the cafe across the street from the explosion. You could see it in the background of some of the videoclips.
I've been allover that square myself too I gave a presentation near that place about a german fountain (gift from kaiser Wilhelm)

I know what you're talking about Aeri, with the vision. Usually it takes a good rest and sleep to reset for me sometimes.
If I was a cat I would miss out on lots of human experiences but life would be simpler and if I had good owners and lived in a nice place I might even be happier as a cat - random thought of the day
if you were a feral cat, living on your own out in the woods, not dependent on humans at all, you'd be having experiences of your own that humans with their fences you can slip through or under, and a lot of their other hang ups, miss out on entirely and many never even imagine.
Are we speaking of a small feral cat ?....that is not domesticated? Sure.... there is the life for when things are honky dory, but then there are natural predators, frigid temperatures, stravation, car traffic, nature's ferocious elements at times and people out there who may want to kill me, as they feel it is their right and freedom to do so.
I am cutting back on Eating Fast Food at Burger joints.. But it's not because of the nutritional (or lack thereof) value of the stuff or anything like that, it's more to do with my "fast food" taking really long to be prepared recently, even when there are no lines. It kind of defeats the whole purpose for me, there are still a few places I will make exceptions for, namely In n Out because there are usually lines and it is delicious and Carl's Jr due to the proximity of it to my work and they haven't been egregious with the long food wait yet. But I've already cut out Jack in the Box for a damn near 20 minute wait and serving me a burger that had the warmth of seeming like it sat out an hour and Wendy's is the next to go here because of a long wait as well.
It still beats having to make the food yourself, sometimes we don't have time to do that and it's nice to be able to grab something to eat nice and fast. I feel you though on the wait time and lack of consideration for their customers regarding the freshness of the food, and even more so it upsets me when they fuck up my order after being very explicit about what I want; I sometimes wonder if they do this shit on purpose lol. Oh yeah, and I find it annoying when they ask, "And what else?" If I wanted anything else I would have said so, they are wasting so much of our time by asking me (and every other customer) this stupid question in the name of upselling.
I live about 30 mins from the Border, there are Mexican food Shops Galore here, granted they are usually slightly more expensive except for Tuesdays. (Taco Tuesday) Closing in on a 10 minute wait after ordering my meal at Wendy's, I go up to the counter to see what's up and one of the workers goes "Do you want your drink?" when there was absolutely nobody else in front of me and they looked like they had a full kitchen staff pretty much.
That would piss me off. One time when I was traveling I actually went inside of a place and they werent busy at all (at least inside, they did have a drive through, but I could see the kitchen and they didn't look particularly busy, mostly standing around); when I went up to the counter to order it was like I was invisible, they never came to the counter to take my order. What should I have done? Should i have yelled at them, "Come take my fuckin order you cretins!", or did what I did and just leave? The assumption was that this particular establishment wasn't particularly interested in profetting today, and that they couldn't be bothered so I left on general principle. I went across the street to somewhere else, because I certainly wasn't going to give that place one cent! This kind of experience has also happened at certain "convenience stores", certain CVS and Walgreens seem to come to mind and were very understaffed. There have been a few memorable times where I went up to check out and there was no one there and an employee couldnt be found. So I left my items at the register and left, purchasing them at the nearest competitor (usually across the street or something) ... when they finally come to the register they will see the lost revenue sitting there, and I'm sure the manager will make them employee of the month when he reviews the stores camera footage I guess I could get on their PA system, that would fuck with them for sure, but the real point is that by that point I REALLY dont want to buy anything from them and would rather buy from anywhere else. If you don't have any cashiers present, then as far as I'm concerned your store is closed.
Do you honestly think some worker making minimum wage gives a shit if you buy them? It just means more work.
I'm willing to wait a few minutes for the food at a fast food joint but if the burger would be anything below the supposed quality then I would say bye bye too. I rather make my own food than pay for a burger that gives you the feeling that it lay waiting on the counter for 30 minutes or so. If I get something from such a place I expect they follow their precious protocols and that the food is everything it is supposed to be. If it is slightly below that I am less forgiving then in a 'normal' restaurant.
