I keep reading Fundamentalist Librarian, instead of Fundamentalist Libertarian.

You can imagine my disappointment.

libertarian is just another word for the intellectual lazyness/shortcut, of expecting the magic wand of 'markets' to do things it just doesn't.
there are some things it does well. but there are too many things that really are needed,
or are the only reason to have governments and soical organization at all,
it just plain don't. pity that.

of course there are a lot of things it would be good to keep our fat noses and fat fingers out of,
and there ARE a lot fewer of those it MIGHT be poking them into,
which yes, THAT would be good.

just sorry, i'm not trusting enough of a soul, to count on that either.

Random Thought of the day; why does a six pack of Hershey bars cost the same as a six pack of Hershey Bars with almonds.
I mean it’s great because I prefer them with almonds but still ...........odd

I'm pretty sure it is, there are certain areas here that have enclaves of deaf people.

 

so, assuming you're not deaf, it's not really a deaf person party then. just a party.

i feel like for it to be called a deaf person party, it needs to be exclusively deaf.

If I went to a superbowl party, and said, "hey everybody, let's watch hockey instead!" and they all gave me the finger, it would still be a superbowl party, just with one marginalized, disgruntled hockey fan in attendance.

So I would say that if a party is organized for a particular purpose, and the majority of those attending are there for that purpose, the party may be properly characterized as being for that purpose.

I suppose if a group of people got together for a party, and then by majority vote it was decided that they would watch the superbowl, then it would just be a party where people happened to watch the superbowl, not a superbowl party. Likewise, if someone threw a party, and it just so happened that all but one person was deaf, then it would just be a party, not a deaf person party.
