the goddamn harddrive i have that had windows 8 on it got corrupted somehow .. SMART shows a lot of read errors, but claims the disk is okay. Windows startup repair failed said it couldn't read the partition table properly or something of the sort, I couldn't read the filesystem from linux either, something about the filesystem being corrupted or in an unstable state. WTF.

Yes I got pissed and and wiping the entire thing ... I didn't try everything in the book, because I dont like wasting time. lost some data im sure but not too much, not enough to be worth the time it would take to try everything I know to fix the windows install which might not even work, meaning lots of wasted time. When I'm done wiping I'm gonna do some more testing to decide whether or not I can trust this hard drive not to fail on me. Random corruption IME is a very bad sign, usually complete hard drive failure follows, it might be a year later but fuck if im gonna lose any important work.

Yeah ... im kinda fuckin pissed right now about that. I'm kinda pissed about the fact that this particular software I can't get to run in a virtual machine also ... oh well ... this wiping is taking a while i guess I can enjoy a few drinks while I wait. I'm drunk ... I was hoping to get some shit done today but now i have to deal with this as a prerequisite....FUCK.

hard drive is old, sat in a drawer for years with windows and ubuntu both on it ... when i put it in my machine it booted up windows fine, several times but today when i tried to boot it up it got stuck before the login prompt.

Normally when someone says they have an ant problem, they mean ants have infested their home, not their head. The latter is actually true in the case of Shreya Darji, 12.

Hundreds of ants continue to live inside the girl’s head, with about a dozen or so emerging from her ears every day, according to the Toronto Times The Deesa, Gujarat girl complained of ear pain last August, and doctors discovered she had a colony inside her head. They have repeatedly pulled the creatures, dead and alive, from her ears, but the ants continue to reproduce and occupy their space in Darji’s head.

Doctors have tried flushing her ears with antiseptic to drown the ants, and have tried several times to locate and kill the queen ant with laparoscopic cameras. Darji has even seen witch doctors, but nothing seems to help — the ants keep reproducing, the Sunreported.

“The girl’s case is very challenging for me, as I have never seen such a case, nor found it in medical history,” Dr. Jawahar Talsania told the Times of India“The big ants must be biting her, but the girl did not feel pain inside her ears. Besides, there was no damage inside her ear.”

Darji is currently under video surveillance in an Ahmedabad medical unit.

Also, I am sick of all the fat-celebrating. Curvy is curvy, and fat is just fat, and unhealthy. It's not the same thing.
If you have an enormous belly, you are overweight and not just curvy.
Rather than focusing on social media activism (you brave fighter you) and "body-acceptance", focus on yourself and your big gut...
Now I don't give a fuck if someone's fat or not, but don't try to sell it as perfectly okay, and don't expect the rest of the world to play along.
