So like the challenge of discovering the roots and the ends of the universe, all that we've accomplished in this discussion is that we've tried to explain the belief that was commonly shared by the 3 of us, therefore we dont need to look any further but within, right?

But ultimately I don't necessarily believe there's nothing, as by my world view there is everything and nothing, and all other possible alternatives and such and I guess the truest sense of infinity, which would not much different than chaos I would believe by my thinking and so ultimately none of it really matters because by chance is the best way to go and by being wildly illogical and stupid it ends up working. :D If my horrible explanation of my views makes any sense to any but me. I think I'm far too lost in my own mind to make a reasonable explanation.

Nothing isn't something, because everything is something and there is no lack of something anywhere at anytime.

Infinity is infinite and therefore includes everything even that which is nothing. :D Umm, cause it's infinite. :D It matters not that it's beyond normal comprehension. :p

'It would be arrogant to presume that there is no God and no possibility of a God'

'Our understanding of the universe is miniscule'

    'God moves in mysterious ways'

    Intelectual response

'God is a symbolic metaphore used as a psychological tool.

Only Atheists and Fundamentalists see God literally and not symbolically.'
[erm thats not true... all people who believe in god must be fundementalists-from the granny who goes to church every sunday to have a chat with god-too the 'jesus freak' knocking at my door telling me to let god into my life ]

    ETC ETC ETC

None of those thoughts enter my head anymore.. i am only here once and having a galvanised opinion about this is what i have chosen to do.. I have completly shut my mind off to the concept of God.. Though i do talk about the subject a bit, but this tends to be in a dismisive way, as this is slightly rude.. i try and keep my 'god bashing' to a minnimum.

Nothing would be, by definition, the absence of something. Since everything is something, there is no absence of something.

But yet we have the word nothing, so the concept exists.. We have created nothing. :p

But, the concept is something, thus it isn't really "nothing".

How is it so hard to understand there is nothing that does not exist, even nothing? :p All religions are right, and simultaenously wrong.. And any other combinations of right and wrong or anything inbetween. :p There is everything and nothing. :pAnd by the act of thinking anything you've brought about it's existence, though everything already does exist but yeah. :D

There is only the word and perception of nothing, but if we were all dead, I dont think this concespt would still exist. Well, accept for maybe some aliens that think like we do, but if they all died as well, then I think we would be become the nothing we have named, since there would be nobody around to remember us.

    Nothing = NO THING.

This is the absence of things.

Since something is everywhere at all times.

"No thing" is impossible and irrelevant.

To us, yes this is true. But like I said, if we were not here, nothing could not be called nothing, therefore nothing would not exist, absence of things or no absence of thing, the absence of things would not exist as it does if while we are alive we choose to think it does or does not.

It's not like I *bash* god, I just dont believe in it.

And for whomever said we take it literally... NO. It doesnt matter to me, metaphorically or literally, I do not FEEL any sort of higher power exists... and I do not feel there is any such thing to believe in.

To me, it is not arrogant, but rather MORE arrogant to say "God created man, and created all things for man" WHICH I HAVE HEARD FROM PEOPLE COUNTLESS TIMES....Arrogant? YES.

Aye, I always try to correct myself and say "Lack of belief"

As, atheism is...lack of belief...not belief in nothing, but rather no belief in something. (???) yes.
