    Groove potatoes!
Because I've been looking to get myself a entry digital camera for yonks now. Ill be getting 800 smackos (AUS) for my tax return and I shall be buying a camera with it. So many nice places around here where I can get gnarly snaps. Not to mention the extreme sunsets

SLS? is that similar to SLR?

    I meant SLR....doh!

    Prepare for a photo dump!
We were bored & restless,it was bright & sunny outside so I grabbed my camera and we went for a short drive up the valley. Our first stop was at a mountain summit look out point.

Then we drove around the tiny town of Silverton and we found all this stuff on display.

We drove on to the town of New Denver, and I fell in love. The town has so many heritage buildings, and I adore old buildings. I was losing sunlight, but I got some shots of the museum.

Then we stopped on the side of the road for a minute, and I took these pics as the sun was going down.

ok sooo....Ive been doing some research and it seems that the Canon rebel is a good rookie hobby camera. Any thoughts from all you wonderful photographers?

Mandy: I wanted a Rebel, but found the Nikkon D-40 more in my price range.

Reviving this thread with proof that spring is on her way:

I've used both the rebel and Nikon D40. I used my friends Rebel for about half a year and than for xmas got the D40. Personally I enjoyed the Rebel a little more, my photos just seemed a little 'crisper. They're pretty similar though. The D40 is a lot lighter for long days of lugging it around. Maybe when i learn to use my D40 a little better my opinion will change, either way they're both good starter cameras.

Her locks were about 2 years old in these pics. She cut them off about 6 months later. :(

wow she is so cool... I used to play trumpet :)

I think if any of my kiddos want dreads I would for sure give them. My friend's 3 year old told her he wants my hair...lol... and she said he wou;dn't be able to brush it and he said never mind... hahaha... wierd.

I was truly heartbroken when she cut them off. I'm just finally starting to get over it and I'm now able to look at these pics without getting too sad.
