Yeah, Terry Reid is awesome. Did you know he was originally supposed to be the lead singer for The Yardbirds/Led Zeppelin? It makes me wonder if Zeppelin would've been anywhere near as great as they were, or if they would've been better. Nah, I'm not really into stuff like that, though I'm sure I could get into other songs in the genre. i like a very wide variety of music though Since you began your question with "as a toker", I had a solo smoking session to this mix(forgive the bad sound quality of some of the verses, because of some of them were recorded 20+ years ago when Three Six Mafia was still recording their music in basements and shit) approximately 10 minutes ago, though I listen to other types of music while I smoke too. Yeah I heard that about Yardbirds. At first it seems he fits in there really well to me but yeah, no idea how that would have worked out! I find it remarkable you are not into classic reggae dub! It is the ultimate chill genre (well I understand that is subjective, no worries). Anyway, I am probably just as selective in the (gangsta) hip hop genre, but since I actually got into some of it since gta5 I might bother you at some point for some recommendations! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYoHa7sti3M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7u_YMqjOxk
Yeah, man. Anytime you're feeling particularly interested, send me a PM and I'll make some recommendations. Compton's Most Wanted is the shizz, btw; especially MC Eiht. As for now, here's someone you might wanna check out, if you haven't already. She sort of "builds" the track on the spot, looping and stacking violin/keyboard/drums/etc, all while singing to it: It's amazing: In the first video, you can see the pedals she uses to loop the various sounds:
And your post reminds me of these:
