"I am a citizen of the most beautiful nation on earth. A nation whose laws are harsh yet simple, a nation that never cheats, which is immense and without borders, where life is lived in the present. In this nation of wind, light, and peace, there is no ruler besides the sea."
I've always liked this analogy I saw on another forum: Your life is like a drop of rain getting closer and closer to falling into a lake, and then when you hit the lake there is no more rain drop, only the lake.
"He who fights with monsters might take care, lest he thereby become a monster" Nietzsche "We have met the enemy, and he is us" Pogo "If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing." 1 Corinthians 13:2 “Let us suppose, gentlemen, that man is not stupid. (As a matter of fact, it cannot possibly be said that man is stupid, if only from the one consideration that if he is, then who is wise?) But if he is not stupid, he is monstrously ungrateful. Phenomenally ungrateful. I’m even inclined to believe that the best definition of man is - a creature who walks on two legs and is ungrateful.“ Notes From The Underground, Fedor Dostoevsky
I promise to plant kisses like seeds on your body, so in time you can grow to love yourself as I love you. —Tyler Knott Gregson
There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life. —John Lennon

"In time of peace sons bury their fathers, in times of war fathers bury their sons" -King Croesus (575-546 B.C.) of Lydia
I love the quote you wrote about a "good friend will help you stand a better friend will stand up for you." "A penny saved is a penny earned."
