Not really, they are an epidemic here. Compete for resources with native species and damage crops for farmers. Not to mention they can be aggressive in certain circumstances. They aren't the devils some people make them out to be but if they decide to make a go at you, and they take you down, they may just stand there and eat you afterward. The pigs I hunt are on my property where my kids play.Porky is goin down.

 

my buddy just recently set his bush cams.....i could not believe how many deer he caught on film...

 

my cat just lost one of my hair clips under the couch.

Crazy little furry fucker.

 

would a human know if they were caught on one of those?..do they flash light or make a noise?

 

haha I have a feeling BBAD has been running around in the neighbors yard naked...

 

no..but i did go ballistic a few nights ago on some drunk kids in my yard and I suspect some vandalism will occur in the future so Id like to catch them

I dont flip out often but these idiots woke me up and were making lots of noise..plus tresspassing

With regard to the game cameras - you can get ones that use an infrared flash and these emit almost no visible light - I say almost because they use a regular bulb, but with a filter that blocks out most of the visible light spectrum - most consumer models might give off a faint red glow - nearly undetectable from most angles. They are more expensive.

 

I bet he's pumped. Deer are pretty stealth. That nose helps them avoid us and sneak into areas when we are not around. Some people think it's unfair to hunt them since deer can't shoot back but a lot goes into a hunt.

Grab a plant with your hand on the way to a deer stand and you just ruined your chances of seeing a buck, especially a mature one. You could hunt deer for years and never get one. There is more sport involved than hunters are given credit for.

First animal I ever hunted I did so because it was killing my chickens. A red fox kept coming in every few days and would take them one at a time. My daughter loved taking care of the chickens and she cried when we would find the trail of feathers. I waited for it for 3 nights. One night appeared out of the woods. Totally silent, they move low and snake like when they are hunting. The moon made its fur look kind of white which I did not expect. Very ghostlike. Didn't even know for sure it was the fox. When the gun flashed I saw the red fur momentarliy. Been hunting ever since.

 

they flash at night but you can turn it off if you choose...during the day you wouldnt know it cause they are silent

rf: My cat moved out last night. He went with my stepdaughter, who also moved out.

rf2: My son is interviewing for a waiter job at Cracker Barrel this morning. My stepdaughter, who works there, got him the interview. From her stories, it sounds like the job from hell. But my son just shrugs and says it won't bother him. Should be interesting...

My stepdaughter's exhortation to my son, if he gets the job: "Never throw your sister under the bus."

 

Going to the flea market in the rain today
