rf: I couldn't start my car. I jumped it. Tried to start it uncountable times. Finally paid to tow it to my mechanic.

The mechanic puts the key in, turns it - it starts right up.

Someone said to me once. the car will not start. and I put it in park .. whats the problem now?.., lol.

 

I do know a few things about cars - it was in park. And one time, just to make sure, I took it out of park and then rammed it back in good and tight.

My co-worker suggested maybe the security system was messed up a bit. Here's what happens:

1. Turn the key to on. Dashboard lights up.

2. Turn the key to start. Dashboard goes dark - no starter motor sound, no solenoid click, nuthin.

3. Check engine light flashes. Putting key in ignition and turning to on does not result in dashboard lighting up anymore.

4. I open the door. Dome light stays dark.

5. I close the door, then open it again. Check engine light stops flashing, dome light comes on.

6. I close the door, turn the key to on. Dashboard lights come on again, and we're back to #1. I can repeat this pattern over and over.

I wish I could have a vault with a toilet in it. That'd be cool.

I can only guess though without knowing the actual make ..year and model

is it a volkwagen thing or perhaps a fiat?

 

Its really windy right now which is kinda good because i opened all the windows and the whole place feels fresh. Sort of like giving your goldfish a new fresh bowl of water.
