Finished my workout for the day...

I'll probably shove the snow off the back deck and front porch after lunch, only got about 2 inches... but under the snow is ice...

just finished some housework and i noticed my dog is very quiet... he threw up yesterday and then seemed ok, but he's a bit quiet for my liking... if he doesn't lively up or worse, if he gets worse, i'll be visiting the vet either later today or first thing tomorrow morning...

What part of the computer is the modem?

 

The modem is the part that talks to the Internet. I'm thinking BBAD's modem probably isn't part of his computer - I'm sure he's on high-speed Internet, so the modem is probably a stand-alone wireless broadcast unit hooked to cable or satellite dish.

 

I have one that hooked to satellite dish... (Wild Blue)

Time Warner Cable runs on the power lines in front of our house but they won't let us country folks have it...

 

DAMN those snooty city slickers!

We're inside the city limits, but on a sparsely populated country-ish road, and we couldn't get cable a year or so ago...it may have changed by now, but more expense - so we'll stick with the dial-up service for now.

 

I used to have dial-up, didn't like it because it tied up the phone line...

I'm letting the scrubbing bubbles do the work...

 

Yeah, try having dial-up Internet in a house with five kids - oops, six as of last Friday - and a wife who uses it for school and for working from home...that's why I hardly ever get on Hipforums from home.
