actually, I'm an idiot

 

buy a submersible ....and protect the pipes by burying them or insulating them


they work fine when used properly and protected from freezing

 

You keep this up and I'm going to come down there and kick your ass you know.... lol

If I could afford a damned submersible... I would buy one... we sent ours into the local pump shop two weeks ago to get checked out... only to find out the guy was on holidays til the middle of december...

 

"buy a submersible" he says....

sheesh...

 

water supply is not something I would cheap out on

 

If I had the money for it, I could solve all of our problems by digging a 180 foot trench, burying and insulating the line, install a submersible in the well and actually have a normal water system...

Because I don't have the money... I will keep banging my head against the wall and bitching and moaning about the newest problem with the damned water....

My well is about 600 feet from the house.

 

YOU start digging, my shovel is broke...

Well is about 150 feet deep or so... water table about 20 feet down.

As for why its 180 feet away... You would have to ask the people who drilled the well and the house to find out why they did anything.... And in actuality, it is only about 110 feet from the house, but to dig a trench I'd have to circle out to stay off the bedrock... or cut the bed rock out... and my picks broken too... lol

A jet pump is useless to me without the buried line... and 525$... might as well be a million....

 

I guess theres more water here...we just drill them wherever is convenient

I have family that have the well cap (deep well with submersible) hidden under a few removable bricks in their basement fireplace lol..and thats not some red Green redneck house its a half million house

 

maybe buy some eavestrough and have them dump into some water barrels on the second floor lol

 

last time I had a quote for a drilled well in this area, it was 12k minimum to drill 150 feet.... and if they didn't hit water, it was your problem, not theirs... they'd keep drilling of course... if you kept paying them...

On one side of my property then, a neighbor had a drilled well that hit steady water at 75 feet, the neighbor on the other side went to 750'!
