I had a really bad day on Monday until I was watching the local news after dinner and realized that a half hour after I was driving on a road there was a 6 car pile up where two cars burst into flames. Three people died and 11 went to the hospital. After hearing that my bad day evaporated. I could have had a much worse day if I had been traveling through that location a half hour later.

We've been over 80f for 12 consecutive days. That's only happened 2 other times since records began.

Jen as hard as it may be you might want to reconsider your stance on that. She may need you more than ever if she does take him back and the kids will need the extended family as well. I understand the worry you all have but at times like this keeping close is a good thing.

I've been hearing a new crow voice in the trees off and on for at least a week. Sounding kind of like a human baby.

Then yesterday as I walked up to our lunch break area, I saw the fledgling on the ground there with it's parents, and it was begging for food. It was big enough to fly, but still the smallest crow I'd ever seen.

I stopped for a few seconds, and then I made some friendly noises as I walked slowly to my favorite rock that I sit on at lunch.

I think they recognized me for being one who leaves bread bits behind, etc.

They slowly backed off a bit as I approached. I sat down and started eating. Then they resumed their feeding (both parents) to the fledgling.

They were only maybe 25 or 30 feet from me. It was cool to see!! I didn't stare though.

I tossed some pizza crust bits away from them, but where they could see.

One of them went and got some, but I didn't see it feed any to the young one because I was messing around with my new phone.

When I looked up they were gone, 'poof'.

Maybe they got full from my pizza crust..:2thumbsup:

    Nice... :2thumbsup:

When I lived in the California foothills 40 miles from Yosemite I fed a pair of Ravens. They never let me get close but where there every morning waiting for their catfood. The next spring they showed up one morning with their baby... They wanted me to see what I had helped support with my handouts.
