I have avast antivirus. Sometimes it tells me it has blocked something from a malicious url. I'm pretty content with it. Free version of course :D

I got that vintage Gilson garden tractor running today... Gotz some cojones, it does. Once it finally fired up it starts pretty easily and purrs. The guy thinks it was a Tecumseh 5 horse he put on there, but he's not sure. Pulls the wheels in 3rd gear though...

Pretty much just a gummed up carb, some fresh gas and some Gumout took care of that... It's gonna need some TLC before I actually use it though. Thing is tiny... easy to get out into the trees for dragging out wood.

Gonna have to build two more stalls on the shed.

Checked for images.... It's a Tecumseh engine. Don't know what size.

We used these on Mini bikes back in the 60's... Did my first crash and burn on a Tecumseh minibike.

Got that new to me "Junque" tractor unloaded and tarped today, then returned his trailer/tractor. It's not an MTD, it's a RanchKing Pro... Same difference, sort of. Newer and bigger than my MTD. Seems this electrical gremlin is pretty common to these things. Too bad, it's got less than 300 hours on it, was parked with no care and deteriorated from there. Those tires would have been nice to use, but they are cracked wide open now. Mower deck is locked up, but I should be able to recover some parts. I'm hoping I can recover the running gear (transaxle/engine) They should be okay with cleaning and lube... Chassis and sheet metal is fine, needs paint. . Could make a nice little hauler. [IMG]

The vintage tractor is sitting out in the rain... Fired right up this morning, then the steering fell apart. [IMG] Glad it didn't happen yesterday when I was driving it around.

There are two stalls attached to the shed where I have my working tractors parked.... They were full of rotting scrap lumber and stuff. I cleared one out for the RanchKing and will get the other cleared some other day for the Gilson/Bready. Someday I'll add a roof to these stalls and have a nice 4 tractor parking place. There's already electric out there and it's right next to the little barn where I keep my saws, trimmers, tools and gas, so it will be a nice setup.

I went up to the corner and asked the dude that owns the barn at the edge of my property if I could repair the roof and use it to store my tractor and atv etc...he said yed right quick.....so I patched the roof and have a beautiful ol barn to use now,.....it was full of old barn panels that I now own.....it has 2 bull size stalls and 3 cow or horse size stalls..........

and I too had to spend time clearing out piles of 20 year old grain and feed that was covering the floor before I could park in there.............its too far from the house to light up so I may buy a solar panel and stick a bulb inside it

    Cool...

You could set up some 12 volt lighting and not even need an inverter. Just a couple of solar panels, charge converter and a few batteries. Light anytime you need it.

I was lucky that all my out buildings were already wired... Shed and barn/shop/whatever. (seems to small to call it a proper barn) The front of the "barn" is a carport. Gonna park my car there this winter.

Only one time in my life have I seen some geese (I recall the people with me saying they were Canadian geese) flying in a V...it was pretty neat.

The only thing I ever see around here are hawks circling. The most I've ever seen was 6 hawks at once in the sky...2 each to a circle. 3 b i g circles.

We see them fly in V formation every year... twice. They rest in dutch pastures and eat the grass. Nope, just regular grass. But it makes farmers angry nevertheless :p

A few times there have been this flock, I guess you'd call it, of blackbirds (about the size of cardinals) that had to be 100+ birds...flying in a circular/oval type formation and landing in the trees here. It didn't take all the trees for them to land, but they took up several large oaks...and that's a lot of tree. :)

They are also loud, chirping when you have over 100 birds going at it.

    I find it very interesting...

rf: about 10 years ago, over 100 blackbirds came to a man's house and fell dead in his yard. This was "investigated" (by whom I don't know) as reported by the newspaper, and there was never any reason given as to why they died/all fell there. This house is approximately 1 1/2 miles straight up the road from me.

Edit: I know this to be a fact ^...it is not "heresay". The owner of the house/land where this happened was not a good person. I also know this to be a fact. Whether these 2 facts are related, I don't know. :D

I got stuck behind a school bus that stopped at an intersection and dropped off a couple kids then drove maybe 20 feet and dropped off a couple kids that lived in the house on the corner of that intersection.

It did the 20 feet thing a couple more times but that one on the intersection just befuddled me.

This is when you know your getting old....."back in my day we used to have to walk 2 blocks to the fish and chips to get to our bus stop."

If you had to walk that just means you lived in a nice enough neighborhood
