My mother is Very Fond of mothballs. I have absolutely no idea why. We have several boxes of them in the closet in the kitchen. Nothing like having toxic, lethal chemicals near food. :p

Since moths are subject to eat holes in clothing that is hanging, I don't even understand how a person is supposed to really use them to stop moths from doing anything.

Them just being there is enough that the moths will fly elsewhere.
i use them for my attic. I put whatever mice might eat in a bag then i put that bag in a bigger bag with moth balls in it....should have did it with my collectible plastic cups they chewed them up. Its ok though i got the last laugh.

Having outside cats, I'd be afraid to use mothballs to "take care of" the damnshitting chipmunks/ground squirrels (that I hell-hate) for fear of the cats might think the dying thing might be tasty.

I think my cat might have gotten sick that way. She got super skinny and couldnt control herself it just happened to be after i put poison in the attic. No way she got any but she could have gotten a poisoned mouse. That was her 8th life. She used every last one of them.

Mothballs are fantastic things when you store a car. Keeps the mice from nesting, they hate the smell.

I'm going to remember this...and I sincerely hope that one fine day I will have a car I want or need to store.

Right now, having/driving a car I  is in itself an accomplishment, for me. :)
