Sometimes I tend to fight the need to just simply be and try to change it. Today was a day to just allow the flow and it was a good day.

i bet amy winehouse could have, but this isnt the argument thread so no point in saying your wrong. janis was a one of a kind that couldnt be duplicated and is very original.

ok a few weeks ago a good friend of mine went on a big huge rant about how the word "gyped" in particular is racist because it's derived from gypsy... also according to her apparently the word eskimo is racist as well... haha spellcheck says eskimo should be capitalized! ANYWAY.. she goes on to say that not only is the word racist, but people who use it are racist if they know where the word comes from.

ok now whats funny is she will watch movies i.e. quentin tarantino etc... listen to music, watch comedy.. you name it that uses the word ****** all over the place. we were in the car and this song used the word ****** and the way it did it was kind of funny. we all laughed about it and she repeated the line, but stopped before the word ******.

all i want to say is what a bunch of bull shit. double standard fucking bullshit. also im not convinced whatsoever that a fucking word makes a person racist.

You may be right, but a moral person should try not to use disrespectful names for other people or cultures.

Btw, American Hip hop is a pathetic joke and fucking Tarentino is a piece of shit as a screen-writer and filmmaker, he couldn't make a serious film to save his life if it wasn't filled with the sickest over-the-top ultra-violence. This shit being viewed as entertainment means our culture has some serious problems. IMHO

 

I've known numerous black people. I've never called them African American. I've known numerous natives. I've never called them first nations. It seems to me that the media creates a false precident when it comes to being politically correct. A precident that minorities don't really give a shit about.

 

i can understand that to an extent especially in your situation because you live in canada..

maybe some people consider the word indian racist.. i use it even though i dont like it but if i actually talked to an indian or knew and indian i would ask them what they want to be called. i will use the word indian but i am, for my own self, totally against using the word native american because i think its bullshit because what they are native to has only been "america" for a short time
