It was in the mid 40's today, 5-6 little finches were gathered on the steps picking at the grout. It must be just the right size grit for their tiny gizzards
I love to watch birds, but haven't just here lately. Crows are wicked smart. They do NOT like to get their picture taken. I have some pictures of them feeding here, but not many...they always sense when I'm gonna take their pic even when I'm inside the house. :sultan: The cardinals down here we call red-birds. They have a sweet little chirp, totally unlike a bawdy, cawing blue jay. The red-birds will fly off when I come anywhere near, but have landed to peck at seed with a dang cat sitting there. The blue jays here are mean as hell. They will dive on other birds, start trouble, etc. lol
Ha ha yeah jays, they can all be assholes... thinking of Magpies and what we used to call 'camp robbers' I heard jays are among the smartest birds.
From what I've observed, I would agree with that. I promise there is a particular one that will land in this dogwood tree near where they have seed and sometimes YELL at me if I sit on the bench. lol recently another slat on the bench broke, making 2 total broken, so I haven't enjoyed sitting on the bench lately. When I've sat down, its only been for moments, and I was scared another might break with me sitting there. rf: I need to start looking for outside garden/sitting benches.

true enough, but for me Phil Collins is one of the suckiest recording artists to have walked the Earth
Recently my mother put my name on one of her accounts (she calls it her "burial account"...meaning one can get to this money to bury her...all other monies, it'll just be tough shit. lol The state, inheritance tax and whatever can all get a piece of everything but that particular account. I say ALL that to say this...the lady at the bank wanted to know why I didn't want to get an account there. It would be so easy, she says. I tell her I may do that (NEVER) but not now. The reason I'm not interested in any type of "account" anywhere is that I want access to all of my money all of the time. No minimum balance, "miminum monthly charges" - LOL, no tracking, no thank you.
I opened a new bank account, for living costs. I couldnt believe how difficult it was! Yet i then had to wait behind a cue of people who couldnt speak english, yet they all had bank accounts in the bank i wanted! I guess the easiest thing to do, is ask a foreign person to do it for you... And they wonder why there is racism!
I just bought a garlic sea salt grinder for $1.99 (it was on sale). Now I can has garlic toast with my leftover spaghetti tonight. Wooo..
