i got one present down, 6 to go.

Went out and put some firewood in the woodbox...

 

Wish i had an open fire, oil is so expensive!

 

We have a fireplace (the one shown in my sig pic) but it hasn't been used in over 50 years.

I'm pretty sure the only thing "wrong" with it is that it needs to be cleaned/chimney swept, or whatever you call it..but The Mother has always acted like "something bad is wrong with it".

The Mother would NEVER let us use it except for one Christmas when I was 6 yrs old and everybody in the neighborhood has lost electricity...I will always remember that Christmas as one I LOVED! lol

 

Split some wood this afternoon, before I can't find it under the snow...

 

people usually install stoves and chop wood before winter comes

I went outside and something rustled in the woods. Probably the racoon.

 

I would have normally done that, but this was a VERY abnormal year...

I lit a fire in the fire place, it looked lovely, smoke was coming out the chimney...settled down for a film, cup of coffee...then the coughing started...then i couldnt see my cup...then i couldnt see the dog...but i could hear him. Yep! Coughing! Chimney swept...havent tried it sinse, mught have a go later...

 

One of Grace's (dog) back feet froze up while were were walking at the park this morning. Needless to say, we did not walk very far. Just a business walk.

Been cleaning this morning, I still need to vacuum the family room...

 

I just put the vacuum away... time for more wood ash.

First off she would never let me put those on her. If I managed to do that, she would tear them off and rip them to shreds.

She has long hair on her feet and I think that the snow makes ice balls between her pads.

For Christmas I got her a toy that says it is "fire hose" I am dying to see how long it takes her to get the stuffing out of it. Reports will follow probably Christmas afternoon sometime. :2thumbsup:
