Today we say good luck in your retirement to K9 Handler/Trainer Tim Crane who served the city of Pittsburgh for 24 years. His K9 partner Sonic will also be retiring with him today, a well deserved retirement.
Officer Crane served in many different capacities throughout his career with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police but the majority was spent with the Pittsburgh Police K9 Unit. Officer Crane first joined the K9 Unit in 1996 and served with his first K9 partner for 7 years. Officer Crane returned to the unit in 2012 with K9 Sonic where he eventually became one of our trainers.

 

Today April 4th, the 3 Pittsburgh Police officers who were murdered responding to a domestic call in Stanton Heights, 2009. From Zone 5, "The Fightin' 5th," Officer Stephen Mayhle, Officer Eric Kelly and Officer Paul Sciullo II were all killed in the line of duty, gunned down early on a Saturday morning. Officer Mayhle was married with 2 very young daughters, Officer Kelly was married with 3 daughters, Officer Sciullo was engaged to be married. Remembering those 3 brave Pittsburgh Police officers today and their families, 9 years later. "Lest We Forget..

 

Makes approximately 2 cups

1 medium potato, raw, skinned and cubed
1 cup coconut milk (canned or carton)
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
Sweetener equivalent to 1 tablespoon sugar, if desired
¼-½ cup water to desired thickness

Combine potato, coconut milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, sweetener, and water in blender and blend at high-speed until liquefied. Add additional water, if necessary, to obtain desired thickness.
