freedom is when you don't need a license to create and explore. NOT a 'right' to choose to be wrong. morality doesn't come from higherarchy. morality comes from self dicipline. anti-morality comes from higherarchy. we could all live in a world each could enjoy in our own way. every technology required to create sustainable infrastructure already exists.
wow, about the dragonflies...they are so cool, diaphonous and beautiful...there are beautiful bodies blue ones here in the summer with black wings and stuff....
Female red back spiders need 4-6 hrs of forplay before submissing to sex. Forplay for this spider is the male vibrating their body on the web before approaching. If the male fails to meet the timeframe and is too quick to jump in the female will eat the male after mating.
Dragonflies are also capable of flying with any combination of their wings....including flying with only one wing. They can perform aerial maneuvers that humans don't have the technology to replicate. Millions of years ago they were much larger (think football diameter) but couldn't evolve to be any larger most likely because they have an exoskeleton that couldn't support more weight without breaking.
There's some pretty big dragonflies in australian bush land I remember. And those cicadas were deafening.
I can't say this is a fact for sure but I've heard that the sugar cane farmers in Australia have to burn off the harvested fields to kill millions of rats every year.
I'm liking the dragonflies A truly sad statistic: World wildlife populations have halved in the last 40 years http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-29418983
flanged wheel on steel rail takes less energy to move a given amount of mass, then rubber tires on pavement.
none of us are ever completely right about anything. but it does seem like a lot of people don't seem like they want to think about anything at all. and then they wonder why everything just happens to them. is the connection really that non-obvious? do they really think, just because they don't control everything, that they have no affect on it?
sapience is wasted on those who hate and fear everything with which they are not familiar. (actually, its a bit of a stretch, as far as i'm concerned, to call them sapient at all.) there is just as much heartlessness, within the tyranny of emotion, as there is without it. recognizing this, is not a support for aggressiveness, which, i do not. every ideology, with no exception, is an excuse, for not basing policy, on conditions experienced, as a result.
