this post right here^ is the first time i ever heard whom at the beginning of a sentence. 90% of the time i heard it, it went like this. "To whom it may concern"

 

Thanks for clearing that one up, Bbad ... there was ignorant little me thinking that it was one of the few residual datives in the English language (accusative, genitive and ablative too, I believe).

So what about the traditional challenge "Who goes there?" ... is that all wrong? Should it be "Whom goes there?"?

Their is a small bridge going to my work thats about 60 or 70 feet long, and it has 90degree turns on both ends, and its very close to the lake so its always frozen. No blind corners on it either.

You want to talk about a perfect bridge to learn how to drift a front wheel drive car.....hohohohohohoh so much fun

 

RF: I tend to find young know-it-all's very entertaining.

RF2: my cat has pretty much recovered. He's back to his usual self, i.e. power brat, and kick-started the hostilities with the plants by digging the dirt in one pot. I'd usually be pissed, but I tell myself it's a good sign. Quiet cat isn't my cat.

Grammar is the difference between knowing your shit and knowing you're shit.

 

it is true grammar is that important, because a missing comma can make a sentence mean the exact opposite, but derailing a thread for a grammar mistake that changes nothing and makes no difference in your understanding of the message being conveyed....well that just makes you an asshole.
