About ten years ago a pelican was caught in Phoenix and returned to the ocean. They said it was blown in from a storm.

I just saw one yesterday cruising over Tempe Town Lake, but there hasn't been a storm in months.

I was worried that it was starving and was wondering who to call to get it shipped back to the ocean.

But a co-worker told me that it lives there, and it has a mate. He said it's cool to see them dive for fish.

I said wait a minute, there's fish in that mud hole of a man-made lake, lol?

He said yeah, I caught a ten pound bass in there two weeks ago.

I have 4 cats left...who who are all really good about using the litter pan and going outside...Oscar though....my orange fat manx, pee's on the papers near the litter pan or craps there, and it goes all over...i am always having to clean his mess up.....that is why i got the linoleum on top of the stone floor in there.

 

damn...had to likes to give and ran out again.....

 

shit, i wanted to take a bath, but got stuck i n here again....but now I have to go get ready to jog dogs...dammit...bah humbug...that is a chore.....lol

Im actually looking forward to the ground freezing..
this deer hunting season was a bust. I wasnt going out in the mud . I used to, but not anymore.. maybe flintlock season will give results. I am going to replenish my archery gear so maybe next year Ill just go in the backyard and hunt...
not saying I cant take a deer if I wanted to, they are right outside. but the crack of a 30/30 30.06 gets the neighbors attention pretty easy.. opps my bad.

 

Was over on a side of my property I hadn't been through yet... All deadfall Ash trees with more to replace those that are already fallen. What a mess that little green beetle (Emerald Ash borer) made of this place in just 4-5 years. This isn't a few trees... This one section has about 25-30 trees that are without bark and ready to burn. Between 8 - 14 inches at the base, a nice maturing ash forest. The ones that have fallen are from the roots giving away and one falling on another and then hanging up in an Oak or Maple. At one time this section would have been mostly an Ash canopy about 1/2 - 2/3 acre. All dead.

I can get the antique tractor in and out of there now... Pulls a wagon load of wood out of there like it was nothin'. Gonna make a path right through there to haul all that wood out, easily a cord, cord and a half, in there. Then brush that area and see what young trees want to come up. There are a bunch of young, unidentified trees standing among the deadfall.
