Been in the 60 degree range today... Nice, but I'm not sure if I'm up to the spring chores. Fuck, there's a lot to do.

Went to get a haircut today and stopped at the spa and they had room to fit me in for a massage. It was really nice to have one.

I got home and my toilet upstairs is doing a drip thing of water in the reservoir. I researched how to adjust it but it did not work. I researched how to replace the innards........now the question is how hard is it to do as I am not well versed on plumbing.

Has anyone replaced the parts on theirs? :)

shouldnt be to hard to do once you get the old part out.. plastic nuts, tighten with channel locks or adjustable wrench..

I watched a couple of how to's on doing it and it does not appear to be difficult but wondered as often they do not but once you start it is a bugger. :)
I may attempt this tomorrow. :)
    Thanks Ori! :)

I removed the wrapping and bandages on Piper's leg today. Poor baby; that strong adhesive was really stuck at the very top of her leg. I got some olive oil and eventually worked it off. She was wrapped as high up the leg as possible, all the way around the bottom of her foot.

I immediately put the cone on her and she's not doing too badly in it. She's just panting and not whining. We can do it. She only has to wear it through next Sunday.

The incision is about 7 inches long and it looks good. There's lots of deep red bruising around it but that's from the surgery.

The ligament was completely torn in two. The vet put grommets in and sewed them together with "fishing line". The stitches on the outside of her leg dissolve so we don't have to go back to the vet at all. She's got 6 weeks recovery time.

    LOL
when we first got Buddy he chewed a hole in his tail because of the heat and we had to take him to the vet and he came home with one of those "Cones of Shame" as we call them. It was so damn big he couldn't walk down the hallway without it dragging against the walls, my daughter would always laugh because of all the racket he made.
Well it didn't last long because he was wearing it the first time he attacked another dog here, probably saved the other dogs life because Buddy couldn't actually bite him, did knock the dog on his ass though.
The encounter totally destroyed the collar, $27 for some sheet of plastic and it pretty much disintegrated.

OK, so for a long time I have known that Buddy and I have a pretty good intuitive communication. I can tell by his demeanor and expression if he needs food, to go out, wants to play, etc..., not really spectacular as most people develop the same type of rapport with their pets.
BUT this is where it gets weird, Buddy is psychic.
Many times if I start to get ready to take him out, he will come to me all excited. Often I just figured he heard me getting dressed or something, but other times not.
So last night I tested the idea. Buddy was in the living room sound asleep, snoring and everything.
I was already dressed and ready from when we were out earlier.
I stood over him snoring away and simply thought "Buddy, wanna go out?" 3 times without making a sound, then went into the other room.
Within a few minutes he came in and was acting all excited about going out, and I didn't utter a sound to him. :yikes:

So after conducting this entirely unscientific experiment, I am convinced my dog is psychic!
We will be calling the networks to see about a syndicated show.
Somebody has to fill the void left when John Edwards went off the air, I think Buddy is the perfect choice.[IMG]

Glad Piper is doing so well and looking forward to when he can romp again with his buddy! :)

Nox, you may soon appear on coast to coast!!!!!!! Seriously animals are intuitive so it is not so far off to think he does pick up on vibes.

My repair job is a no go as I can not shut the water valve off as it appears to be ceased. I am not going to force it as that would mean a flood if I break it. A plumber is coming tomorrow to fix this.

Now for the strangest and most offsetting news of the day for me. I called my landlord about a plumber and his son answered the phone and told me his father died this morning. I am in shock and my heart goes out to his wife and two sons. I have never met a kinder person than him and he will be missed by all. It is a sad day. :(

    Sorry to hear that, Heather...

I hope the business stays within the family. Changing landlords is rarely a nice thing for the tenant.
