When this house was built in the early 1950's (1951, I think) it was built by 2 doctor brothers. I sure they knew their doctoring but not so sure about the rest. Well, this fairly bigish house is very tight, the walls thick etc etc. BUT there is no grounding. There aren't all that many receptacles but LOTS of fuses...32 if I'm remembering correctly as well as the fuses are in NO kind of order, at least none that my son or I can ascertain. It seems like for at least every other receptacle and light fixture in the ceiling they put another fuse down there AFTER they drew a straw as to where to place the said related fuse.

It will cost a fortune to have this house rewired. There is NO 220 anywhere in this house...the "dryer" is a clothes line or a set-up I hillbilly engineer in the bathroom (space-heater blowing at clothes hung across the shower curtain rod)


Edit: years ago they didn't place 3 to 5 receptacles on each wall. We even have receptacles BEHIND the radiators. :yikes:

 

This frigging cold sickness. I'm seriously considering going back to bed this afternoon.

 

Temperature is dropping like a rock now. The high for the day was around 11:00.

It's elven AM and I've still got my robe on over my clothes. Big old fluffy robe is the warmest thing I own. Gotta man-up and go split some wood. Frikken' cold this morning!

Have to get brave and go to town soon, too. Roomie and I have decided to have a small Xmas dinner since it's just the two of us this year. He makes the best fried chicken dinner.. so prolly that. I'm going to make the one thing I can bake. Zucchini bread, which is really more like cake than bread. Maybe put some red-hot candies on top to make it xmasy.

We also have to get new xmas lights for the front porch since this is about the only time of year they sell them. I miss my tiny blue lights at night. The current strand had a puppy accident. I'll be so glad when she's out of the teething stage.

 

I keep some kind of lights strung across the front of my porch all year. I love it. I think I need to get some blue ones for January. The plain white can be blinding.

I've got the mixed color up now.

I try to go seasonal.

 

had such a shitty night i didnt know if the clock was 1am or 1pm

i had blood drawn for tests early this morning...both arms 4 from each...i'm drained.......time to bag out for an hour and then maybe a late bacon eggs...hens are laying again..they think it is spring

 

Was snowing on the way home from Dad's... Was snowing sideways when I got here.


Yeah, it's windy here. At least it wasn't snowing up hill this time. That shyt weirds me out.

i been invited out for breakfast in the morning...i'm so lazy though i should get them to come here

 

Dad is doing better than I some days... But that's another story. He's doing good. I saw my sister for a bit too... half hour- hour or there abouts.


The three of us will have Christmas dinner next week.
