Icky storm passing thru here today. Rain.. misty almost rain... and then cold as fk.

I won't be working outside today, that's for sure. I'm up. I'm dressed. Got the Celtic knots worked out of my hair. That's a win.

We got brave and went to town. I had no idea that the bridges were flooded. Luckily, there's a back way to town that takes longer but I don't end up having to call a tow truck.

The sun finally came out so it's time to split some wood and get the Ben Franklin fired up before the sun goes down. It's supposed to freeze tonight. All I usually have to do is get the house warm and toasty and then it holds the heat all night. We have really thick walls. That cast iron fireplace is awesome... it'll keep this two story old farmhouse comfy.

I could even cook on top of it... if I cooked... at all.. ever... :)

    Orison... great rainbow shot!

Rolling... You cook squash on top of your cast-iron? That sounds like something even I could do. Thanks!

lots of people cook squash by slicing in half and then baking 2 sides with some butter and brown sugar/spices......baking it whole is easier..and the finished dish is so succulent and sweet that you don't need the butter/sugar or you need way way less of it

also any dish that needs baking you can also pop in a squash at the same time..it is a super simple side dish

golly that post almost turned me gay

My wood stove is in my fireplace so there's no accessible top. The wood furnace on the other hand...

Well the town voted 3:1 to not have solar panels... apparently they would make the whole town go dark.

theyre probably just using it as an excuse stalling for a few years so they can buy some land themselves and then approve it so they (or their families) can get rich from it

that usually how small cities work
