A busload of politicians were driving down a country road, when suddenly the bus ran off the road and crashed into an old farmer's barn. The old farmer got off his tractor and went to investigate. Soon he dug a hole and buried the politicians. A few days later, the local sheriff came out, saw the crashed bus and asked the old farmer where all the politicians had gone.

The old farmer told him he had buried them.

The sheriff asked the old farmer, "Lordy, were they ALL dead?"

The old farmer said, "Well, some of them said they weren't, but you know how them crooked politicians lie."

Mom and Jo-Ann just left and took their take home bag with them. Jo-Ann also took a bag home for her pig Gracie. It was a nice evening that I really enjoyed.

Celeste has taken a shine to my mom and figures she is a good perch.

 

made a fast road trip up to hot neighbors in my old town...she has a new house and was on the way to medical grow site.....gave her son 10 bones for his birthday.....have a spot in my heart for that kid...his dad f'd off before he was even born

I met his neighbour and she is hot. As well as being a really nice lady.

 

I have a hot neighbor....but she's one of my wife's best friends and I could never bring myself to do anything more than a little harmless flirting.

My brother called me this evening. Nobody in my family ever call each other.

 

Man... Some 19 year old kid got dragged into a woodchipper today in NC... First day on the job. He wasn't alone, two experienced guy were with him at the time.


That just sucks.

Jesus Christ! This kind of thing happens sometimes but I never know what to say about it. It makes me feel terrible for all involved but it also pisses me off. Seriously...how the fuck does this keep happening? With all of the safety rules that we have.....how is it possible that people are still being killed this way? I deal with this shit every single day and it is personal for me. It could be my kid one day. Nobody should be seriously injured or killed out there if we are doing our jobs properly. Something is fucking wrong here! We don't have rules just to have rules and say we're doing something. Rules matter out there where we work. The rules get you home safely every day.

My son just came home and I told him about this.....and that this is the exact reason I am always repeating myself about safety. I probably sound like a broken record everyday. Good....I mean to sound like that.

I could never operate one of the big chippers because I saw this happen when I was a kid... That guy lived as far as I know but lost an arm.


It's something I'll never forget though.

 

From the story I read last night about this kid it sounds like he kicked at a limb to get it into the chipper... It caught part of his clothing and dragged him in with it. This is not a great idea, but even if he was with two experienced guys not every safety measure can be covered on the first day, nor can a kid absorb every safety measure even if something like this was mentioned before the machine was started. Especially with this "hurry up and get it done NOW" workplace situation we seem to live in these days.

More likely, Yes, there were two experienced guys on site, but they were doing other stuff at the time. The kid was probably left on his own and told to get it done fast with no oversight...

the same things that make money kill people. the hurry up and get it done i mean. not just people.
as long as there is hurry up and get it done, there's only so much anything can do for safety.
that's always been my feeling anyway. hurry up and get it done is just something i can't ever trust.
and i can't ever trust the kind of job it can do either. no matter how good anyone is at doing it.
