likely so....what do you think I should charge for the mould and mildew removal when he asks for them back and I tell him they are gone?

I was thinking 1 thousand dollars...I think its fair.

my landlady/lord care about 1 thing....that I keep my 48 month rent on time streak going for another 48 months

Our understanding is that they stop laying, at least in part, because the length of daylight changes in the winter. We put a heat lamp in the coop and run it on a timer to simulate the longer days....the chickens pretty much kept laying as usual throughout the winter.

Now we are down to one chicken. It's older and my wife wants me to kill it because she thinks it will have a hard winter by itself with no other birds to huddle with. I may have to do it but I think it's slightly unfair that she was all gung-ho to start keeping chickens....I wanted nothing to do with it. She bought the birds....I had to build the coop. Bird needs to be assassinated....I'm the one who has to do it. I'm not sure of the most humane way to do it. She says I should shoot it.

Edit to say...chickens lay eggs...she cooks them for me to eat so.....I suppose.

It's not so easy. I have friends with chickens and they would take it but if you just toss in a new hen, it will probably get the hell beat out of it by the others. Kind of a pack mentality. We've had to keep new birds separated until they were almost full grown in the past.

We've kind of been there, done that. She was stoked about the chickens for a bit but lost interest. Same thing when she had fish. Same as when she had hamsters. That's why she isn't getting a cat...that and cat hair. She can have the tortoise.....specifically and only a Galapogos Tortoise. :)
