I am sorta confused. Are you marketing for stores or opening a restaurant?

Hard business to break into for sure. Although a challenge can be a good thing! :)

It would be a restaurant. Kind of a bar and grill.

I took my daughter to the gun range this morning. She had never even fired a BB gun until today. It looks like someone has a new hobby. I asked her how she liked it when we left. She said "I liked it....A LOT!" Now she wants a .22 rifle.

The one she used held 10 rounds. I was actually surprised that she did as well as she did. She fired about 70 shots. Almost all of them hit the middle area of the targets and 14 shots hits the bulls eye. The target was only 5-10 meters away (we moved it around) but that's pretty decent for someone who never fired a gun before.

I didn't know this but in my state it's a felony to let anyone under 14 fire a hand gun. I said "So if we're out in the country, on private property and I let my kid fire a hand gun that I own....under my supervision....that's a felony?" I guess it is but there are a lot of people around here who have done that....myself included.

when we were kids i remember my dad taking us out and we'd shoot the handguns across a road ..and near an airport even ...(dirt road/trails)

i cant even imagine what would happen if we did that now...theyd probably have a swat team come in

Checked out the Stihl MS250 today, briefly... It's cold and wet out there.

Anyways I cut up a couple pieces of Norway Maple to use as stump seats by the woodstove. Saw runs and cuts great. Norway Maple isn't the hardest wood on the planet, but this is green so it's harder than the Ash I have laying around. Tried it on a piece of that too... Both ripping and cross cut. Nice! It's a much more aggressive 18" chain than my old saw.

Also put a new chain on my smaller top handle Stihl trim saw. Haven't used it yet. Last chain broke from cutting all that brush.

my transport trailer legs have been sinking into the ground ...what a freaking job that was...not one person ever came to help when i asked...took me 2 months a bit at a time but i finally got some old fir mine beams under the landing gear

i had 2 12k leg jacks and 2 farmall jacks to work with...the farm jacks were not strong enough to lift but i was able to use them to hold shit up while i repositioned the 12k crank jacks

    my lungs are on fire

thank god the wind was blowing away from the horses...i cant stand that smell

if i would have known the ground was so soft there i would have slid the rear dollies up under the trailer before the mover guy disconnected from it...right now the wheels are all the way back

That is a big job for one. Glad you have it stable now as is this not the one you use to store stuff in?
That makes more sense now. Sounds exciting and it will be probably a fun challenge as well as a headache. Usually how it goes. You should do a journal on your progress as it would be great to read and I bet even for you to look back on.

I have been around guns all my life. The best memories are when my dad was teaching us how to shoot and also look after the guns. He built a sand trap at the back of the property and we would do target shooting. I miss those times with him now that he is gone.

I might go back to the range in a little while. I'm waiting on a friend to decide if he wants to go with or not. Everything is half-price from 6-8 on Saturday evenings. I've always enjoyed target shooting but I've never owned my own gun. I have enough friends with plenty of guns that I can always borrow one.

One cool thing about this range is that they have all kinds of guns that you can rent for $15 plus ammo. The ammo seems to be about the same price as anywhere else. Some of those guns look pretty wicked and I don't even have to buy one. I can go there in an hour or so and rent one for $7.50 and shoot it as much as I want. (Although you do have to be a member which my daughter and I became this morning).

I'd never go to a shooting range around here... I don't like hanging around with Tea Party morons much.

Actually I don't like hanging around with Tea Party morons at all.

i wish you all the luck in the world. i'm not a business person nor usually much of a business enthusiast, but corporate franchising is destroying the world, not to mention the diversity that makes life gratifying. more power to everyone who starts something that isn't owned by it.

I don't either. I've only been to this place once but the employees seemed very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Not even a hint of political discussion. To be fair, I know plenty of people who enjoy guns but who aren't Tea Party people at all.

Thanks. I'm all for local ownership too. I won't eat at or review any establishment that isn't local. No fast food, chain places, etc.

If we do this....I'm guessing it will take a year or more just to get everything in order. We are at the very beginning of the process and as good of an idea as we feel like it is....writing the business plan, etc. will tell us if it really is a good idea.

hugs to you. i really appreciate when someone does.

you know, i don't think i'm the most brilliant person ever, or that the world should do everything my way, i just wish, more people would think about everything instead of taking so much for granted that most people seem to.
