good morning....new thread for new season......summer slowly loses its grip as autum stomps on its fingers

 

Right!

 

I love the warm winds of autumn

 

I'd like that too... But they aren't warm.

 

It's 61 degrees F/16 C, overcast, with slight drizzle...I'm off to the woods.

 

10c here, 10:30pm after three hours sleep last night, I'm going to have a puff and slip off to dreamland.

 

The trees here are getting ready to put on their show. I see the first hints of orange and brown. The autumn extravaganza only lasts about a week in this forest, once it gets going, and then someone rings a bell or something and they all drop their leaves at once.

We have some pine and cedar but most of this forest is black walnut, oak, elm and they get nekkid in the winter.

I'm already thinking.. 'come on spring!'

 

nourishment, hydration, aspiration (breathing), and shelter from hypothermia are things my physical existence depend upon. companionship is not directly one of them.
this does not make affection undesirable, but simply not a prerequisite.

most things about my physical "self", beyond its immediate requirements for survival,
are just as uninteresting to me, as i would expect them to be to anyone else.

seasons and weather are mostly things not about myself.
unless i'm some kind of weather god and don't know it.

i have on occasion observed weather to follow my moods.
such occurrences tend however, to be somewhat short lived and infrequent.

 

The seasons we can not stop but I have to say my favourite is summer then spring, fall and last is winter. I don't hate winter but wish it would end by March.

 

I'm already in the woods...

 

I am debating starting a fire in the woodstove.......lets see if I can nap in this cold room first...if not I am lighting it up baby

Random facts about me: I'm very short.

(Not really a 'random' fact. It's pretty much been a lifelong fact. Hobbits.. my people.)

I can't tie a cherry stem into a knot with my tongue. (I don't think anyone really can. It's a trick!)

I can make the most gawdawful sounds with a saxophone. (people pay me to stop playing)

I am a champion thumb wrestler. (I cheat)
